DAYTON —

A 33-year-old man was arrested early Saturday morning after his alleged robbery victim tracked him down in Dayton with the assistance of police.

Jermane L. Hicks remained behind bars Saturday evening, facing one count of felony aggravated robbery. His 31-year-old accuser told officers their altercation began Friday evening, when Hicks asked her on her way into a bar if she would give him a ride to Xenia. She declined to give a ride to the stranger, she said.

When she returned to her car after the bars closed, she said a a rear down to her car was open and Hicks was in the back seat rummaging through the car. She angrily approached him, and a struggle ensued in the back seat.

According to a Dayton police report, the man cautioned her that he had a gun but never showed one. He pulled her coat up over her head and then took off with the woman’s purse.

She called police and a Dayton police officer picked her up and they drove through the Oregon District in search of the man. The man was taken into custody by another officer on the 900 block of Wayne Avenue.

The report states that Hicks had the woman’s property, which was promptly returned to her.
