Police say that Chad Foland abducted his own child during a Friday night domestic dispute.

SPRINGFIELD —

Authorities said a Springfield man abducted his own child during a domestic dispute Friday evening.

The Ohio Highway Patrol assisted the Clark County Sheriff’s Office in the arrest of Chad Foland, 31, who faces several potential charges: Aggravated menacing; criminal damaging; burglary; weapons while under disability; drug possession; child endangering; and operating a vehicle while intoxicated, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s report.

Foland allegedly forced his way into a home on Lawnview Avenue, threatened the occupants there and abducted his 10-year-old son, according to the report.

Foland also allegedly slashed one vehicle’s tire.

An OSP trooper located Foland’s 2002 Gold Pontiac near his home in the 2300 block of Irwin Avenue and subsequently arrested him there, according to the report.

Foland’s son was found safe.

Foland is in the Clark County Jail as of 10 p.m. on Friday evening.
