A Clark County man remains in jail on drug charges today after a two-month undercover investigation.

Robert E. Dawes Sr. appeared in court Wednesday morning pleaded not guilty. His bond was set at $100,000 on a drug trafficking charge and $5,000 on a charge of driving under suspension.

According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, during the course of an undercover investigation, Dawes was identified as the individual responsible for trafficking in large amounts of heroin to individuals in Clark County.

Upon being taken into custody, a search warrant was executed at a Springfield motel where a large amount of heroin and cash was discovered.

Dawes obtained his own attorney, according to reports.

The RANGE Task Force and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisted in the arrest, according to a release.
