DAYTON —
A man was struck by an emergency vehicle while crossing Brown Street near Miami Valley Hospital Monday afternoon.
Police said the man was not in a crosswalk and will be cited for jaywalking.
He suffered minor injuries when he was struck at about 2:55 p.m. by the emergency van — or ambulette. He was placed into another medic vehicle and transported to the nearby hospital for treatment.
The ambulette, which police said was not carrying a patient at the time of the collision, was not damaged and the occupants were not injured.
It was unclear whether the vehicle had its emergency lights or sirens on at the time of the crash.
