Nuns on the Bus stump for ‘faithful budget’

DAYTON —

A group of Catholic nuns is on a tour of Ohio to advocate against federal cuts that would hurt Catholic-supported social service agencies.

Thursday, the Nuns on the Bus tour visited the University of Dayton and the St. Mary Development Corporation, with later stops planned in Lima and Columbus to visit Catholic-supported charities.

The tour comes at the peak of election season and the nuns are asking Democrats and Republicans to support “a faithful budget that affirms the life of all God’s children — not just the wealthiest few,” according to a news release.

“As Catholic sisters, we work together with vulnerable people to enrich their lives and their communities. We want to remind our fellow Ohioans that voting is a chance for all of us to serve our communities and change lives,” said Sister Monica McGloin, of Cincinnati, who organized the tour.
