A woman was killed in a head-on collision Wednesday morning outside of Tipp City.

Around 10 a.m., a car and van collided head-on in the 200 block of Ohio 571 after the car went left of center for an unknown reason, according to authorities. The female driver of the car, Daisy Yates, 56, of Laura, Ohio, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A mother and her two children inside the van were taken to area hospitals with minor injuries.

The mother, Miranda Ganger, 31, of Tipp City, suffered a leg injury and was taken to Miami Valley Hospital. Her two boys were taken to Dayton Children’s Medical Center for treatment of abrasions caused by their seat belts.

Authorities said the children were properly secured in child seats and that likely prevented more serious injuries.

Alcohol or drugs are not believed to be factors in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
