SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP —
Careflight was called to an injury accident early Sunday morning at South Bird Road and East High Street.
State troopers said that the 32-year-old male driver was southbound on Bird Road when he went off the right side and hit a telephone pole.
He complained of back pain and head lacerations, and troopers said his injuries were considered non-life-threatening.
Careflight landed at a nearby elementary school where medics transported the victim. He was flown to Miami Valley Hospital.
Investigators suspect alcohol was a factor in the accident. Charges could be filed.
The driver has not been identified.
