DAYTON —

A man was shot in the buttocks on Danner Avenue near the intersection of Bancroft Avenue early Monday morning, according to police.

Officers said the man reported he was just walking down the street when two men pulled up in a black Chevrolet Impala around 12:10 a.m.

The victim told police the passenger of the vehicle got out and shot at him, striking him in the backside, Sgt. Michael Pauley said. The victim was transported to Miami Valley Hospital with what police described as non-life threatening injuries.

According to police, the suspect vehicle fled the scene and the victim was not able to describe the suspects to police.

The shooting remains under investigation.
