DAYTON —
A man was shot in the torso during what police believe was an attempted robbery on Danner Avenue early Thursday morning.
Officers discovered the man lying in the street in the 1000 block of Danner at about 2 a.m., police said.
The victim was transported to Miami Valley Hospital with life threatening injuries. He was in surgery as of 3:30 a.m., according to Dayton Sgt. Matthew Dickey.
The victim was in serious condition Thursday afternoon. Police declined to release his name.
Police said the victim told officers he was assaulted by two men, one reportedly wearing a mask.
The incident remains under investigation.
