WEST CHESTER TWP. —
The beginnings of a potential methamphetamine lab are being investigated by West Chester Twp. police.
Officers received a complaint at about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday from someone at Tri County Inn, 10110 Princeton Glendale Road, according to Officer Jeff Newman.
“They found meth lab precursors, things used to make meth,” Newman said.
A West Chester Fire Department crew also responded to ensure the safety of the area. Newman said several neighboring hotel rooms were evacuated as a precaution but have since been cleared of any danger.
Newman said several suspects are being questioned, but no charges have been filed.
The two listed suspects were in the Butler County Jail on Wednesday afternoon stemming from the drug investigation at the Tri-County Inn:
* Jerry D. Marcum Jr. of Hamilton, charged with second-degree felony illegal manufacture of drugs, illegal assembly of chemicals to manufacture drugs and tampering with evidence. Both the latter charges are third-degree felonies.
* Brenda Lee Dungan of Hamilton, charged with second-degree illegal manufacture of drugs, and a count of third-degree illegal assembly of chemicals to manufacture drugs.
