Cool night gives way to Friday showers

Staff Report

MIAMI VALLEY —

Look for area temperatures to fall slowly into the 60s this evening as clouds will linger along with the small possibility of a passing sprinkle or two, according to Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Jamie Simpson. Temps will bottom out in the low 50s by Friday morning.

The Miami Valley should see some early sun that will give way to clouds by midday Friday, then showers will arrive in the afternoon. Temperatures will top out at about 70 by early afternoon just before the showers arrive, Simpson said. The rain will cool the area back into the lower 60s by the evening commute.

Simpson said the area should anticipate some rain for Friday night football games. Most games will get some rain at some point, while some locations will remain dry for an hour or two. Temperatures during games should be close to 60.

Rain will be gone by Saturday morning and skies should be sunny. Clouds will return in the afternoon along with some scattered showers, most likely from Interstate 70 north. It will be breezy and cool with highs in the mid 60s, Simpson said.
