MIAMI VALLEY —

Clearing skies and lighter winds that were first anticipated means fog is developing. If the wind doesn’t pick up much the rest of the overnight, we could be looking at some school delays and morning slowdowns. Temperatures will fall to the lower 30s at sunrise Wednesday, Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Jamie Simpson said.

Wednesday still looks to be very sunny, but chilly, with highs in the low to mid 40s.

Thursday will be the coldest start this week with temperatures for many in the mid 20s at sunrise. Sun will give way to late clouds as temperatures will recover into the mid and perhaps upper 40s in spots.

Then comes a very rainy stretch, Simpson said. Friday through next Tuesday will be wet at times as a front drapes across the area and waves of low pressure move through along that front.

It won’t be a chilly rain, though, as the Miami Valley should see lows in the 40s and highs in the 50s each of those days. There will be dry periods, but it is impossible to say right now when they will be.

Simpson said the wettest days may be next Monday and Tuesday when between 2 and 4 inches of rain could hit the area when it’s all said and done.

That is good news, Simpson said, as the dry November has the area still 9 inches below average for yearly precipitation before Tuesday’s rain.
