Warren County roads remain mostly passable mid-day Wednesday, according to county agencies.
Warren County police dispatch said the county had to handle approximately 25 accidents earlier in the day but that, as of noon, most traffic was moving smoothly. The majority of the accidents were located in the northern end of the county, particularly the Clearcreek Twp. and Springboro area where the tail end of a major winter storm system was traveling through Ohio.
Dayton Power and Light reported only two power outages in Warren County and Duke Energy reported only one, according to the companies’ websites. Lebanon’s electric department said they were experiencing no power outages as of noon.
No roads have been closed, and the sheriff has not issued any snow advisories, as the majority of the surrounding counties have done.
By this evening, between 3 to 7 inches of snow is forecast for Butler and Warren counties, according to the National Weather Service.
“There is a lot of difference in the area,” said meteorologist Myron Padgett of the wide range of expected snowfall in the region. “Some areas are getting more sleet and rain, and some areas are getting all snow.”
This snowstorm could be the last of 2012. Padgett said there are no snow or storm fronts expected to be in the region over the next week.
For the rest of the week, the forecast is for weather to be partly cloudy and cold, with the high temperatures in the low to mid 30s, and the daily low temperatures to be in the low 20s.
