A woman convicted in the beating death of her grandmother was sentenced Tuesday to 28 years to life in prison.

Aisha Marie Sanders, 25, received the sentence from Montgomery Common Pleas Judge Mary Katherine Huffman.

Sanders pleaded no contest earlier this month to two counts of aggravated murder, two counts of aggravated robbery and one count of tampering with evidence, according to court records.

Investigators said in December 2011, Sanders beat her grandmother, 86-year-old Mary Muha, to death then stole her television and sold it for money to buy drugs. Sanders stole Muha’s vehicle and fled, only to be found the following day in Preble County with the vehicle, which had run out of gas.
