1992 - New York City

Democratic presidential hopeful Bill Clinton, right, and his running mate Al Gore Jr., raise joined hands at the end of the Democratic National Convention held in New York City, July 16, 1992.  Clinton and Gore accepted their party's nomination before hundreds of supporters at Madison Square Garden. Clinton went on to beat President George H. W. Bush in the 1992 election. 

Delegate vote:  Clinton 79%, Jerry Brown 14%
