The technical director of the University of Dayton Ladar and Optical Communications Institute spoke with area business leaders Friday (Oct. 19) about how the optics and photonics industry can create local jobs. Paul McManamon was a co-chair of the National Research Council's on Harnessing Light: Capitalizing on Optical Science Trends and Challenges for Future Research. Last month, McManamon presented the group's findings to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy in Washington, D.C.
