The University of Dallas, founded in 1956, is a private, Catholic liberal arts university. The school is located on a 744 acre (3 km²) suburban campus in Irving, Texas (12 miles (19 km) from downtown Dallas). The school is sometimes called "The Catholic University for Independent Thinkers".
The University offers undergraduate degree programs through the Constantin College of Liberal Arts; undergraduate and graduate degrees in business from the College of Business; and doctorate and master's programs in the humanities through the Braniff Graduate School of Liberal Arts.
